I have an almost impossible project ahead of me.. I'm planning to tidy up the stairwell down to the basement and was thinking of insulating and covering the stairs above. I've been trying to figure out how to do this in the best way but have hit a dead end. One side of the stairs has stringers that the ceiling panel could be attached to, but the other side has nothing to attach to and I can't see how I would attach a beam. How would you do it?

  • Stairwell with wooden panel walls, exposed white stairs, a fire extinguisher mounted on the wall, and a black railing on the left side.
  • View of a basement staircase with wooden panels, white risers, a metal railing, and a white door at the top, depicting a renovation challenge.
  • Wooden staircase underside with visible beams and paneling, showing where insulation could be added. One side has stringers for potential panel attachment.
  • Staircase leading to basement with wooden and painted walls; issue with securing a panel on one side is described in the context of a renovation project.
