A cracked and weathered outdoor pizza oven with visible damage and rusted metal, in need of repair. Cracked masonry pizza oven in need of repair, with visible damage and peeling paint, situated outdoors with surrounding greenery.
just bought a house with a brick pizza oven in need of some love. Not sure how much we will use it, so step one is as simple a fix as possible to see if it's something we want. However, I have no experience with masonry. So what should I use best and what should I paint with afterward?

Honestly, it looks like you can demolish it with a clear conscience.........It has probably been wet and frozen several times and repairing something like this probably involves tearing it down and building a new one, but we haven't seen the inside or without plaster, so it's hard to answer exactly.

I'm not home right now, so I can't take any pictures, but as I remember, there were no major cracks on the inside if there were any at all. But it's Gothenburg, so it's humid, and winters fluctuate around the freezing point all the time.

Isn't it possible to simply repair the plaster?

You should probably knock off the plaster and see how the bricks look... If there is insulation, it might be reusable, but expect to replace and replaster it afterwards...
