Feeling a bit silly for having to ask, especially since I couldn't find anyone with the same question after several Google searches. Anyway.
Should a shadow strip be mounted against the wall or the ceiling? In other words, should the "long side" rest against the wall or the ceiling?
:x

With us, the carpenters placed the long side against the wall.

The long side against the ceiling...the reason some put it against the wall is because it's easier to miter due to the shorter part being mitered...

There are different types of skugglist. Skugglist 21 should be mounted with the long side against the wall, while Skugglist 43 should have the long side against the ceiling. Skugglist 33 should have the smooth side against the wall. (According to Svensk Trä.)

However, you can obviously position them as you like, if you think it looks good in another way.

How can there be a shorter part that is mitered? You miter the whole thing, don't you?

If you set it as Enk Projektet suggests, it becomes longer (33mm instead of 21mm), which is more difficult but looks better and is correct.

Long side against the wall
A door frame with a light-colored wall, showcasing a corner meeting between a wall and ceiling with patterned wallpaper.

Long side against the ceiling

Maybe not the best pictures, but these are what I found on Google.

Try to miter something that is 1cm and something that is 1m and you'll understand.....;)

It's probably me who doesn't have a clue what the list looks like, simply. :)
