How to fix an arch?

We have an arch that is not very nice, the curvy line is not even. I hope it's visible in the picture. What is the easiest way to fix it? I think you can place a new even curve just below the old one, but how?

It might be possible to cut two pieces of suitable panel material to get the ellipse you want and screw them on each side of the wall, then fill up against the form with a suitable product. You will probably need to sand off the paint in the arch first.

It might be possible to saw two pieces of suitable board material into the ellipse you want and fasten them on either side of the wall, and then fill up to the shape with a suitable product. You probably need to sand off the paint in the arch first.

That could probably work with bendable masonite board and then fill the gaps with suitable material? That's how I would do it if it was just the bend that needed to be evened out.
