We have an arch that is not very nice, the curvy line is not even. I hope it's visible in the picture. What is the easiest way to fix it? I think you can place a new even curve just below the old one, but how?

Uneven archway above a door with visible curve irregularities, interior view.

Is it the same radius all the way that you want?

No, I think it would be better with an elliptical shape. But the construction method should be the same, right?

Are you thinking something like this?
Interior view of a hallway with a white door featuring glass panels, flanked by a side table and mirror. Arched beam drawn above door frame for reference.

Do you mean like this?

Like this. So that the end of the line is vertical. Hard to see in the picture but the edges are vertical.

Spontaneously, I would guess that you have to tear down the old vault (at least the upper part) and build a new one according to your new intended line.

It is a concrete wall :-)

Aha, I see 😊 I'm just brainstorming, nothing I've tried myself. It might be possible to cut two pieces of suitable panel material to get the ellipse you want and screw them on each side of the wall, then fill up against the form with a suitable product. You will probably need to sand off the paint in the arch first.

Yes, that could work. Thanks for the tip :-)

That could probably work with bendable masonite board and then fill the gaps with suitable material? That's how I would do it if it was just the bend that needed to be evened out.
