How to enclose stairs - paint white - wall-to-wall carpet on the steps?

We rolled the stairs with 20 gloss wet room paint.
Then we glued down the carpet with a glue gun and some staples at the bottom.
It looks unchanged after 7 years now.

Really nice lighting. What kind?

Bought an LED strip at Hornbach in a package with a transformer.
Then attached a wooden strip on the back of the railing with it directed downwards to prevent glare.

Nice! I am missing lighting in my stairs. I have a ceiling light that illuminates but it would be nice with some softer lighting.
