Hello!

I am currently in the process of renovating/adding insulation to the living room, as there was no insulation in the floor and it was quite uneven/had seen better days, which led me to tear everything up and install new joists!

I have now reached the point where I need to start insulating, and here's my question.

I have laid the masonite on which the insulation will be placed, but how tight does it need to be here?
Is it enough to screw the masonite down, or should I tape/add some sealant to prevent any potential drafts?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

It should be as tight as possible to make it airtight. Both to prevent air movement in the insulation and to prevent odors from entering the home from the crawl space.

Okay! Thanks for the answer :)
