I am going to build a canopy on an Attefall building on the plot. The Attefall house is 5.4x3.4 meters and I plan to have the canopy along the entire long side with three standing posts at the front, which means the beam span will be 2.7 meters at the front. At the back against the house, I plan to hang the canopy on the rafters that protrude.
The roof overhang from the house is 5 dm, and the canopy will be under this and extend 1 meter further out, so the roof is actually only 1x5.4 meters, but on the other hand, snow from the large roof will surely slide down onto the canopy and remain there.
It is snow load zone 3 that applies.

Considering that there could be quite a lot of snow sliding down from the large roof and the span is 2.7 meters, I thought of using a 45x195 beam. I haven't calculated anything on it, just estimated.
Do you think a 45x145 beam would be sufficient?
