Hello,

We have bought a new doorbell button for the house; the previous one was poorly installed, and the wires were visible and damaged. Here is how it looks right now:

As you can see, I have recessed the doorbell button a bit into the brick; it could probably be recessed another 1/2 cm, but I think this will suffice.

The plan is to spray light gray Tec7 behind it to make it reasonably waterproof; this will also glue the doorbell in place. I will, however, install the screws, but I don't have long enough ones at home, so I need to purchase them. Once this is done, I plan to build up with regular house fix around it so that the cavity behind the doorbell is not visible.

Does this sound like a reasonable solution? How would you do it?

If you use Tec7, it's already set with that, but otherwise, you have to drill in a couple of plugs at 4 or 5 mm and screw.

Yes, exactly, I've already installed plugs and the screws will go in, this is mainly for appearance since, as you said, Tec7 will glue it in place. As I mentioned, my plan is then to apply husfix around it to build up to the button in a nice way, does that sound like a reasonable solution? Or will husfix look patchy?

House fix can be good, just tape around so it doesn't get "messy".
You can also pinch off the screws and just glue the heads as "decorations".

I'm actually considering cutting off the screws since it doesn't seem to be very easy to find stainless ones with the same "nice" design :)

At least I've applied Tec7 now and it looks really good, it's almost as if it could be enough on its own but it'll probably look nicer if you build up with husfixet.
