Hello!
I'm going to put a header in a lightweight concrete outer wall, but I'm a bit unsure about the dimensioning.
I'm going to cut a hole in the lightweight concrete wall and insert a wooden frame with standing wooden beams above to support the wall.
Depending on where I place the window, one or two rafters may end up above the hole, but how do I calculate the load of this?
I was thinking of using two or three glulam beams to relieve the load, but the question is which dimension to choose, or if regular 45x195 studs would be sufficient instead of glulam.

Imagine, I'm just sitting here fiddling with a little mini project thread about this.....
Check this out:

Download and calculate..... Works if it's on the upper floor at least.
How wide is it? Limträ is nice and right now there are a couple of beams on Blocket you can get your hands on. 115x3something - should be enough for you, I guess.

Hi Mathias
Thanks for the tip about the program... I will try it.
It's not that long. About 1800mm long window section that needs to be replaced.
It was easier with the replacement for the other window section as it was in the gable of the house which is not loaded by roof trusses...
