Hello all knowledgeable ones!

I just discovered that the ceiling lamp my partner and I are interested in weighs in at 4 kg. I've heard 2.5 kg as a limit but also have a feeling that it's more related to modern standards, new gypsum ceilings, and so on.

But we live in an apartment from the 40s, with ceilings that I believe are plastered concrete*. And lamps weren't infrequently quite heavy at the time (various chandeliers/cast iron lamps/ceiling fixtures with thick sheets of raw glass). So maybe we can hope that our ceiling hook can handle a bit more?

The hook feels a bit thicker than you often see today and seems older. It's a well-patinated thing. The threaded part is a bit over 30 mm, and the thickness is 4 mm if that might shed some light on this.

What do you think, can we dare to hang a 4 kg lamp?

*The walls we've had to drill into so far have been concrete or lightweight concrete, with brick further in, and I suppose that of these materials, concrete is suitable for ceilings?

Doesn't it usually say max 15 kilograms in ceiling boxes?

*Facepalm* If I had known that, I wouldn't have needed to take down the current fixture, unscrew the hook, measure, and then log in here to write a thread and distract you and others with silly questions.

Sure enough, it does say max 15 kg there if you just shine a light and look a little. Thanks!
