Today's carpenters are probably better at handling screwdrivers. Preferably with a 1.3 Ah battery, so it doesn't become too heavy. :)
A few years ago, I was standing at the post office waiting to pick up a package when, a few meters away, an older gentleman (65-70?) was talking to a man. He was venting quite harshly with many swear words about carpenters who, according to him, only cheated, and all of a sudden he said: "They shouldn't even be allowed to call themselves carpenters; they just screw everything together nowadays!"

Apparently, the definition of a carpenter is someone who loves their hammer :)

Using a power drill. The entire panel, all the fascia boards, window casings, and everything else is screwed. Very practical when you need to replace a window later, for example.
Same here, bought a branded nail gun, used for the frame and sheathing, but found it too cumbersome to carry around 4kg. I've screwed most things, easy to remove if necessary.

I haven't used a regular hammer more than to pull out some nails :)

The guy in the clip shown here http://youtu.be/-NTuH2C5pm0 sets some sort of minimum standard for how a carpenter should be able to handle a hammer.

Everything else is amateurish.

That was like :O :D

Mikael. Are you going to try? :wow: ;)

No, I already have a ladder.

And then I'm actually really bad with a hammer.
I agree with what others have written about screwing, I screw more and more as the construction progresses.

And it's so awesome when I realize I've screwed up and have to remove and redo. d^_^b

You? You never make mistakes :P :) :D
