I have realized that I'm terrible at nailing. I need between 5-7 hammer blows to get in a 4" nail :(

How skilled are you?

Using a nail gun. Bang it goes and it's fixed....

I do that too. But sometimes it doesn't work.

Depends a bit on what I'm nailing it into ;) I hammer them in with 2 hits max in our walls:cool: though we do have a house made of lätt betong of course :P

If you hold the hammer more than you write posts on byggahus.se, maybe the habit will get bigger? ;-) "Godfather".

HAHAHA.....d^_^b

Three strikes for a 3" nail and four strikes for a 4" nail with a Vaughan Ti-tech 16oz. The best hammer ever made in my opinion.

I also believe that a good hammer is among the most important things.

I think it's more interesting how many strikes you need to, for example, drive 1000 4" in a row. Everyone can drive a nail in with one strike, but repeatability is what shows who can nail. The next level is to do it upwards, for example, 3" in sparse paneling in the ceiling.

Or as my grandfather said when I was little: "You hit like lightning!!!!!" and oh how proud I was!
Then he continued: "It never strikes the same place twice...." :(

.....or as one has heard a few times on construction sites....say hi from me when you meet..... :D

Today's carpenters are probably better at handling screwdrivers. Preferably with a 1.3 Ah battery so it doesn't get too heavy. :)

Using a screwdriver. The entire panel, all wind boards, window trims and everything is screwed. Very practical when you have to replace windows later, for example.
