How do we remove a feature wall in slate/marble? Picture

Just bought a house with this feature wall made of slate and touches of marble
Does anyone have an idea on how to remove it with the best results? Knock it off? Spackle/plaster over it? Drywall?

why not just let it be? Everything looks brand new. In time you'll get used to it or realize you want to completely redo it anyway, and then you can just hack it away.

Give the kids each a large/thick marker and/or a few small paint cans and a brush, so they'll have some destructive fun over the weekend
Agree that it looks insane.

Renovation plasterboard (6 mm) if it fits in thickness, otherwise maybe it can be painted over everything? The joints will still be there if you don't fill them, but the pattern itself will disappear.
Personally, I would have painted it white or some light gray shade. After a while, maybe you'll want to redo something else and then you can take the opportunity to remove the tiles.

Well, I also think it's ugly, but once you settle in, you'll probably get used to it and can make wiser decisions later.
I also think you should paint it white and not rush to demolish, but enjoy your new house and settle in a bit. However, I completely agree that it's unsustainable to keep it as it is
, but painted white, I think it can be okay anyway. If you still want to tear it down, new plasterboards are the way to go.

I think everyone who says that he should "get used to" and "settle in" before tearing down a wall he thinks is ugly has a dull attitude. Surely one knows best what one's own taste is? Would you have said the same thing if it had been a regular wallpaper? Hardly think so.
Questioning, like "KnockOnWood," why someone bought the house because of a single ugly wall is just as bad; everyone knows that surfaces can be fixed.

What now, can't you even ask anymore.
The house looked brand new, so it should reasonably have other qualities.
Is it really so bad to ask a simple question?
