The net suggested above is probably a net for thin plaster (EF mortar).

Might be good in your case, such a net and ef mortar.
You smooth the mortar, then smooth in the net.
The next day, you smooth over it thinly again and then finish with a felt trowel.
A bit hard to assess without pictures.

One trowels the bruk, then trowels in the net.
The next day you trowel a thin layer over again and then float with a float board.
A bit hard to assess without pictures.
Thanks for the answer! Is it possible to apply EF-bruk on gypsum plaster? The walls were plastered with this a long time ago. And painted. The paint probably needs to be removed first I suppose. Sounds like it's going to be a dusty job.

No, EF bruk sticks to everything, as it is some type of plastic bruk. But very good.

I don't think it makes much difference whether it's 4 mm or 6 mm.
And personally, I rely more on products sold by Swedish department stores.
Especially Beijer, which has some knowledge of plaster, and should know a bit about what they are purchasing.
However, the roll from Amazon is much cheaper, I believe such a roll at Beijer costs at least 1500 kr.

I think it sounds unnecessary, he's just going to repair, not build an ISO house. His house will not be approved for it. Just a waste of money.
