Hi, we are going to replace the patio door on the right in the picture and then the large window on the left in the picture. But we would need help to know if they have a load-bearing function? I don't know if I posted it in the right forum, please help!

  • Floor plan with two red arrows pointing at the living room and hallway, asking if the door and window have bearing functions.
Partly, you can check where the roof trusses go.
Quite often, load-bearing posts/vertical studs are replaced when they are "cut off" when windows/doors are installed.

Remove the trim around and see how it looks.

Okay, I can add that it's a brick house, adding a picture.

  • Red brick house patio with open door, children's sandals, a barbecue grill, and a car seat. Transparent roof structure above.
  • A brick house with a large window under a translucent roof, surrounded by plants and outdoor furniture.
The brick is just a surface layer, no load-bearing.
There is said to be an air gap of 1-2 cm between the brick and the rest of the wall.
The rest of the wall is likely a wooden frame structure.
