in a root cellar without electricity like this one:

Would it be possible to monitor the temperature wirelessly? It would be interesting to be able to plot temperature over time, to see if it remains frost-free under all conditions or needs more soil.

Does wifi reach down there you think?

If there are 2 doors with insulation and cold space between them about 1 meter, it usually doesn't freeze in the cellar itself. I haven't seen earth cellars with heating, but of course, it might be interesting to get a grip on the temperature.
Car battery and some form of transmitter/receiver could work. Otherwise, bring in lighting, it tends to be quite dark in them and to find what has been stored.

Hello

How far away from the residence is the jordkällare? A weather station with wireless transmitters works up to 10-20 meters.
For example, this one for 500 kr:

The downside with that one is that max/min resets every midnight.

If you plan to have cameras or smart plugs, you can buy everything from TP-link, for example. For the temperature sensors, which cost around 200, you need a hub for 400 kr. The measurement values are saved in the app and can be viewed afterward.
