House fix

Expert friends,

are there any issues with Husfix? I'm going to fill cracks in a masonry wall made of lightweight concrete. The cracks have been repaired on the outside of the house at the drainage. This is on the inside, before painting. My local paint store (Colorama) specifically recommends Husfix.

I'm looking for something as easy to work with as possible for an amateur repairer. Since it's not a large area that needs fixing, the price isn't a major concern.

Is there plaster on the lightweight concrete or are the concrete blocks clean (exposed)?

The reason I'm asking is that if the walls are plastered, you should not apply house fix.

It's plaster - some form of lime. What should I have instead?

Ok! Just so I understand: should I use lime plaster in the cracks between the masonry blocks?

Are we talking about continuous cracks? Then you might be able to apply something harder on the concrete itself (if you can reach it, that is). But the plaster should be repaired with plaster.

Here come two pictures. Remnants of a previous settlement, I guess. The wall is repaired by the drainage and facade company on the outside.

The old man who lived here before tried to fix the cracks with filler. It worked halfway. The cracks appeared when I removed the plastic paint that the person had used to paint the wall (of course, there was mold in one corner).

The wall blocks are easily accessible. The white is some form of plaster. When I scraped off the old paint, the wall blocks were exposed in some places.

Ok, it was not as I had imagined. I had imagined a real plastering. In the pictures, it almost looks like paint...

Anyway... You can probably repair it with husfix if you want. Don’t forget to wet it thoroughly beforehand.

I'm not very good with the technical terms. It is a layer of something chalky that dusts terribly. It could be paint. What looks like dirt is the surface of the concrete blocks.

By the way, does anyone else know, or can guess, what the white stuff is? If I brush it with my hand, it falls off like dust. It has previously been a surface layer in the room (I noticed when I removed a board that was older than the plastic paint).

Isn't it just regular lime then? Not lime render, but lime wash, which is often and correctly used to treat basement walls.

It's white and resembles chalk.
