We have built a new kitchen hood where there was an old one; at the old chimney stack in the kitchen. We were planning to install an external fan, but now we've run into some issues. We thought we could have some kind of insert in the chimney pipe, but that wasn't available (at least not at Miele).

Should we make a separate vent from the kitchen hood through the floor joists and lead it out with the external fan on the exterior wall of the house (a bit ugly, but at the back of the house so it doesn't show much)?
The floor joists are not built yet, so they can be adjusted.
The problem then arises that the exhaust consists of moist air that gathers under the eaves.

Has anyone here had similar problems? How did you solve it?

Grateful for suggestions...

Super special problem?

A kila who helps us says we should buy a new "internal" fan.
If so, we hope to find one that is both very quiet and efficient.

Does it exist?

There are duct fans that can surely be placed in a suitable location.
Contact a ventilation company, they can easily solve this!
