Hello!
Some background info: We have a house from '48 that stands on an uninsulated slab. In the middle of the house, along its length, there's a built wall of hollow bricks that has then been plastered. On one side of the wall, we have the bathroom, hallway, and kitchen. On the other side of the wall, we have the garage. The plan now is for the garage to become a living/dining room. The question right now is:
How do we apply some form of wall covering to this wall?
Can we put up drywall directly on it? Is there a risk of moisture from an uninsulated slab in that case? Or should we perhaps install metal studs and create a small air gap, which would also solve where we can place two water pipes and some electrical wires? Are there more options? Is some form of moisture barrier needed?
I've read a bit in the pinned thread above, but it doesn't really deal with an interior wall on an uninsulated slab, so it wasn't very enlightening. So! Just answer away!
