I am going to build a large bench box using 45x70 studs and form plywood.
I plan to custom build it against a wall as shown in the (nice) picture below, and that leads me to the question.
The lid should be one piece (to keep it sealed), so how on earth can I design/build it so the lid can open without hitting the wall?
Are there hinges with this function?
Another smart solution?
Any hinge if you can accept a gap as large as the thickness of the board, will still not be completely tight against a brick wall.
Hinges for kitchen cabinets work the same way.
