Hello!
I would need help determining if a wall is load-bearing in our house.
The house is a single-story brick house with a basement.
The wall we wish to remove is what feels like framed with drywall or wood paneling and runs between the stove and the outer wall.
Anything else I should look into to have a bit more to go on?

  • Floor plan of a single-story brick house with a proposed non-load-bearing wall removal marked in red between the kitchen and living room.
  • Floor plan of a single-story brick house with a basement, showing various rooms and corridors.
It is very likely not load-bearing. There is no wall in the basement under this wall either. Take a trip up to the attic and see if there are W-trusses, then you can safely take down the wall.
