The other day I wrote a post where I got lots of tips on how to solve the transition from baseboard to molding. Now I'm in the next room, and of course, new problems arise.

In the picture, you see a 12x56 door molding that sticks out. How would you solve it? I know there are moldings that are 12x43, but are there even smaller ones in the same thickness?

  • Close-up of a door trim measuring 12x56, visibly protruding from the wall, with a suggestion for smaller trim options.
  • Door frame with 12x56 trim protruding into a pink wall; the question is about finding thinner trim in the same thickness.
  • White 12x56 door casing protruding from a pink wall, illustrating a measuring and fitting challenge in home renovation.
  • Door frame with protruding 12x56 trim meeting wall corner; viewer seeks smaller matching trim solution.
