I live in a house built in 1946 with an uninsulated slab and a ceiling height in the basement of 210cm. The basement is really rough, and I'm considering refreshing it, including digging out the floor to embed heating coils. Therefore, I've gathered all available drawings to see if it's possible, and the only ones of value are below. Is there anyone knowledgeable who can help me interpret this page? I'm mainly thinking about the bottom right where the slab is shown.
(In the building description it says:
Foundation: rock
Foundation on reinforced concrete slabs of 20cm. Cement stone).
Do I understand it correctly that the slab is constructed with a 20 cm cement slab on cement plinths that are at least the same if not thicker?
There's a drilled hole in the middle of the floor, and when I put down a rod into it, I get up moist sand/fine crushed stone. Can I assume there is as much filling sand between the plinths as they are deep?
I need to come down about 40 cm to make room for gravel, insulation, and concrete for the new floor, so the summary is: do you think I will be able to come down that much?
Thank you!
