My wife and I are interested in an older house. We have received the inspection report. I would love to hear others' opinions on it. If that's okay.
Nothing that makes me raise any red flags at least. The comments mentioned don't feel unreasonable given the type of house it is. The maintenance actions seem manageable.A Andreas_1977 said:
Probably should expect a larger investment in the roof in 5-10 years. But it might be good to do a check on the roof to assess its condition.
I would probably want to know the operating costs of the renovated sewer system, if it requires a service agreement which is not completely free. How complex is the water purification considering lime, aggressive substances, iron, radon, sodium, etc. It results in as many filters as problems and creates a more service-intensive system and rarely perfect water.A Andreas_1977 said:
I only know that the operating cost for the entire residence is around 2000 SEK per month. It has probably increased a bit considering the electricity. The water is tested and approved.H håbbe1961 said:I would probably want to know the operating costs of the converted sewage system, especially if it requires a service agreement which isn't entirely free. There seem to be two wells, but one is not used for drinking water.
Yes, I can imagine the roof will need to be replaced, but it's the same with the house we have now. What we were most worried about was the moisture in the basement. We've never had a house with a basement/crawl space before.oskar.valta said:

Own sewage is an expensive thing if there are issues with the stricter environmental requirements, and the current system is approaching 10 years. I would probably use the duty of investigation and double-check with the environmental office about what is installed, which determines lifespan and what maintenance requirements exist, determining ongoing expenses. The answer regarding the water as well. The information that emerges in the sale must be checked, especially those not reviewed in an inspection.A Andreas_1977 said:
Thanks for the response. Great to have information like that here.H håbbe1961 said:Private sewage systems are an expensive issue if problems arise with stricter environmental regulations and the current one is approaching 10 years.
