I am building a vacation home where one section is 6 x 11 m. In my design, there are two IPE 200 at 3.7 m in the intermediate floor. 200 mm is a bit high when the joist is in 45 x 195 mm. It works with a sparse panel underneath, but it would be nicer with a less high beam. Does anyone know how an equivalent HEA beam would be dimensioned to have the same load-bearing capacity as an IPE200?

HEA 180 is perfectly sufficient. It is about 20% stiffer.

Thanks!

A bit heavier but takes up less space.

Yet heavier but lower: HEB 160.
