Hard-to-find strip / fitting / profile / batten / whatever-it-may-be-called
Hello everyone.
I'm looking for somewhere to buy a small U-shaped aluminum channel to make grooves where I can mount a thin sheet.
The inner measurement should just be 10mm in width. The thickness isn't so important (I think).
I'm attaching a picture to show what I need.
I've searched a bit online but only find similar channels in slightly larger formats for mounting walls, and it's around -30°C cold outside, so I haven't committed to driving around and asking at various building supplies stores just yet.
I thought I'd ask you pros for some help first if you know of any store chains that sell what I'm looking for before I head out into the cold.
If there's any better and/or cheaper material than aluminum, that's also of interest.
Take care!

Regular hardware stores might be a losing bet, try firms that sell profiles.
Have bought similar ones at a regular hardware store, they are standard items.
Aluminum is probably the best, unless you want to go to a specialty firm and ask them to make something in stainless steel.

Good tips with hardware store instead of building supply store, I will check that out. d^_^b
Stainless steel is probably unnecessary in this case, I probably don't need it unless it's cheaper which I don't think it is. But I will keep it in mind for future projects.
Thanks for the help! Now I didn't have to go out into the cold unnecessarily! :wow:

Bauhaus definitely has such profiles. However, I think they have "standard measurements" externally, so that they are 10, 15, 20 mm externally. Maybe it can work with 12mm if it exists, it should be approximately 10 internally.
There can be many long discussions about Bauhaus's website, often concluding that it's only useful for checking opening hours and saving some trees by viewing the flyer online...ElSmisko said:
If you're lucky with good staff at "your" store, it usually works to call and ask, though sometimes you need to be lucky with who answers, but if you are, you can get stock information on most things

Have been out to Bauhaus and acquired these profiles now. There wasn't one with 10mm inner measurement, 12mm was the closest I found but that works too, just need to manually fine-tune a bit more.
Thanks for the help everyone! d^_^b
