Hello!
I have just installed new paneling and am planning to use a swan neck as a crown molding but I'm not sure how to handle it against the slanted ceiling? You can install a regular straight molding against the slanted ceiling but then there will be issues at the outer corner (see image). Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Hi, To get the right angle on the slanted ceiling, you need to remove some material from the back of the molding. Since they are relatively short lengths, the material waste from a couple of 'practice pieces' won't be significantly large ;)

Great, thanks Schwingen! Clear and with a great picture, but it probably requires a few practice pieces, as mentioned! 😀

Swan neck is a... invention. The better half, who has more patience, took pity and put up the moldings in the extension where we have slanted ceilings with swan necks. A lot of caulk and many extra meters of molding make it easier when putting up the moldings, a brad nailer is a must.
