Many years ago, drain pipes were glued here in Sweden and the glue affected the pipes so they tend to crack. The blue pipes might have a better plastic mix.

The picks look like a small gräfta with a long handle, so something similar exists here.
A planting hoe could be an alternative.

A gräfta is much weaker, and a planting hoe/potato hoe usually has too short a shaft and a V-shaped blade instead of a straight blade. The hoe in the picture can be swung into the ground hard enough to cut through thick roots without any problem. It digs and moves soil in one sweep, instead of in two motions like a spade. It can push soil towards you or away from you like a rake. It’s like a universal tool for soil, sand, and gravel, with the same functions as an axe, spade, and rake. It was also very common in Sweden just over 100 years ago but is no longer available. However, of course, a spade, axe, and rake are more effective for certain specific tasks.
