I'm going crazy with all sorts of glue that doesn't live up to their promises.

I'm putting Moelven wall panels on a previously painted concrete wall and gluing according to the instructions on the tube. It says it should adhere immediately.

I thought this would be super easy, so I set off with great enthusiasm all by myself. I pressed with full force with a prop and let it sit for a while as I prepared the next panel. Released and thought how fun this is - until the whole thing came off. To make this work, you need to press the panel for hours. It would take weeks to do a larger room if you can only put a 40 cm panel at a time. You don't have unlimited clamps to press wall panels. According to the description, you should be able to install without support fixation. Nonsense!

The glue is bought at ByggMax and is called Illbruck PL600. A relatively expensive glue at ByggMax. Is there a difference between different PL200, 400, 600 etc.? When you read the text, it almost looks the same on all of them. It's not out of stinginess, just that I followed what it says on the tube.

My question - is it the wrong glue? The surfaces can't be the hardest to glue. They're completely smooth and cleaned according to the rules.

What I ended up doing was taking out the nail gun and nailing the panels to the concrete to fix them, with the result that some nails bent as you happened to hit a stone inside the concrete. And lots of small nail holes in several spots. So now I have to paint too.

Try turbo tack from Danalim. One of the best when it comes to grabbing quickly if you ask me.

Have the same experience as you with pl 600.

Pl400 is a much better adhesive, always sticks.

Tec7 is also available at byggmax, it's as good as pl 400 but without solvents.

PL600 needs a porous surface to cure, and maybe both your surfaces are not porous enough, meaning it takes longer?
