Glue or screw battens directly onto tiles to lower the ceiling?
I might possibly lower the ceiling in the bathroom. I need to screw the battens to the wall, not to the ceiling. However, since it is tiled all the way up to the existing ceiling, I wonder if it is possible to glue the battens to the tiles? (PL-fix or PL600)
The bathroom is small, about 160x180.

Plaster wall behind the tiles.Lolight said:
You may ask, but should I first pre-drill the studs and then mark all the holes with a pen to know where I should tile-drill? Or is there a smoother method? The screw might be 8mm(?) Then I can max pre-drill with a 6mm drill (in the stud) and it will be a really thin pen
Always tricky with tiles. I would probably have put masking tape on the wall. Pre-drilled the studs with an 8mm wood drill. Then use an 8mm steel drill, up with the stud against the wall, drill a little with the steel drill, it scratches the tape. That way, you know where to go with the tile drill. Or something like that. Not something I've tried myself.

Isn't PL400 (instead of PL600?) and nail plug easiest if we assume it's a brick/stone wall?
You can also drill through the stud and tile with a concrete drill bit. If you just turn off the hammer function, in my experience, a concrete drill bit works fine on tiles.
I have used the rotary hammer through stud+ceiling at the same time for nail plug when I lowered our ceiling in the apartment.
