I have a room in the basement available after installing a heat pump and I'm in the planning stage to decorate this into a relaxation area/sauna. But I'm wondering about what to do with the walls. They are currently plastered stone walls/external walls. You probably want some kind of ventilation behind the new wall/tiles, right?
How much air space is needed? Does anyone know where there are designs to look at to see roughly what it should look like and what materials are needed to build with?
Same question regarding the floor, currently a standard stone floor directly on the slab.

Kind regards, Andreas

If you are going to have tiles on the walls, you should not have an air gap behind them. Instead, you should place the tiles directly on the wall, without sealant paint or sealing layer behind. Moisture barrier should only be in places like a shower corner in a basement.
