I am planning to build a hidden wardrobe in my son's room. The idea is to recycle doors from an old IKEA PAX wardrobe.

As I lack experience in carpentry, I'd like to know what I need to consider when building the frame that the doors will be attached to. The right wall is concrete, the left wall and top are drywall. The space is 2.24 m wide and 2.17 m high.

There will be four 50 cm wide doors and a fixed section of 24 cm against the concrete wall.

Should I use 45 studs for the posts? Can they be thinner at the top and bottom or do they need to be the same size there too?

  • Room with shelves full of storage baskets and boxes, adjacent to a baby crib.

Can they be thinner at the top and the floor, or do they need to be the same size studs there as well?
Draw a sketch of what you're thinking!
What do you mean by hidden?
Why not just place the Pax wardrobe and build around the area if you want them to be built into the wall? (It's perfect to use 45 studs and drywall to build it in)
