I will be installing LK EPS30, i.e., 30mm foam tracks for 16mm pipe on the existing flooring/ceiling consisting of grooved 30mm pine planks.
The floor is sanded, but does not meet the construction AMA's requirements for height differences.
The installation instructions advocate laying the foam loosely against the floor, upon which two layers of floor gypsum are glued with LK Kiilto Flytfix mixed with LK Kiilto Fixbinder, and then fix and tiles. I want the foam to also be glued in a similar manner to level out any height differences and give the foam a homogeneous base.
After talking to LK, they suggest that the same flytfix should be usable under the foam without having specific knowledge other than general for the product. However, after talking to Kiilto, they suggest there is a risk of the wooden floor rising due to the moisture in the fix, as the primer is not waterproof. I called late this Friday afternoon, so I couldn't have a longer discussion with them about this. They suggested using setting glue. The problem with that, as I see it, is that it would be unreasonably expensive, guessing 40+ tubes for my 4m2.
I think that primer, a layer of rolled waterproofing, and then flytfix should do the trick, but I'm concerned that the drying time for the fix will be unreasonably long since there are sealed surfaces both under and over, even if there are some gaps at the walls and between the foam sheets. I would have gladly rolled waterproofing also on the top gypsum to avoid risk of possible mold growth from water from wet shoes penetrating through fix and primer.
