When we installed the EI30 door between the garage and the utility room, we ended up with a gap between the wall and the frame. To meet the fire cell requirements, we should probably fill the gap with something. With what? Does anyone have any good tips on what we should do here!? We also want to maintain the thermal insulation. So maybe half the depth with something fire-protective (the first layer from the garage side), and regular insulation from the storage side!?
To be completely correct, it must be filled with a certified fire-sealing product, and according to some, it should also be done by a certified company. The latter feels a bit like overkill considering the products available. There are products that are like any regular silicone tube, and even foam-like sealants. However, they can be a bit difficult to obtain.
