I recently bought a house and have just discovered a hole in the foundation (I have a crawl space). The hole is at ground level and is about 6-7 cm in diameter, going all the way through.

What should be used to fill the hole? Can you use some kind of sealant foam or should you mix concrete?

Appreciate any tips.

It's probably an air vent that should be there.

No, I don't think so because the hole is not round in shape but rather uneven.

Does any other ventilation to the foundation exist at present?

Yes, there are several "common" valves/grilles.

Buy a standard vent grille, break off the collar, and drill holes in the corners for screws.
