Filling gaps between plaster

What is the best way to fill larger gaps between plasterboard?

Regular filler, paper tape, latex etc? Preferably avoid cracking

There were significant gaps. I had filled the gaps with plaster filler (powder mixed with water), then applied tape and spackled with LH filler.

Those were substantial gaps. I would have filled the gaps with gypsum filler (powder mixed with water), then applied tape and filled with LH filler.

Probably need a ruler too and some patience.

I can understand that there will be gaps since no angle is straight, so patience is definitely required.
