When I cast the slab a year ago, I left space for a shaft. It turned out larger than needed and now it needs to be filled, and I intend to tile a floor on it once filled.

The hole is about 55x20 and approximately 5 cm thick.

You can also see a small "ledge" in the concrete, which will hopefully provide some support for the overlying material we are filling in.

The base is 15 cm of foam insulation, and beneath that, there is a sparse paneling that will eventually be covered with gypsum. If the foam insulation is not firm enough, I am not skilled enough to assess, and in the worst case, it may need to be removed and replaced with a wooden beam, or equivalent.

Would it be enough to lay a thin reinforcement and fill it in with self-leveling compound/concrete, or would that be too weak?

I just went out and stomped quite hard, and it indeed feels firm. Parts of the surface are even without a floor underneath and are directly on the ground. It feels stable enough that I would dare to cast and believe it will work, but you don't want it to crack in the future.

It's the left side that needs to be filled. The other half will be built in behind a cabinet and runs freely between the floors.

I'm quite inclined to cast, without tearing at the base. However, I want to make it as strong as possible given the conditions. For example, maybe use some concrete screws in the existing concrete, as a complement to the reinforcement.
