Hi, I'm thinking of lowering the ceiling over the kitchen cabinets for spotlights. The ceiling is not painted or plastered yet. What I'm wondering is if I should finish the ceiling and then build down over the cabinets.
Or if I should do it in one go, i.e., plaster with the paper tape.
If I finish the ceiling first, how do I make it look neat at the joint between the ceiling and the lowered ceiling? Silicone or?27032011367.jpg

  • Ceiling with unfinished drywall and joints, showing unpainted and unspackled surfaces in a kitchen under renovation, with materials covered for protection.
  • Kitchen cabinets with recessed ceiling and spotlights above; the ceiling isn't painted or plastered yet.
Crown molding?
