Considering extending the deck when we eventually replace the railing and decking.
Today, the decking boards are on floor joists that are approximately 2.5 meters out from the wall. The floor joists rest on a laminated beam on posts and with a joist hanger in the wall.
How far out from the laminated beam could I extend the floor joists during a renovation without it becoming unsteady or unstable? Currently, the floor joists have no overhang at all over the laminated beam.
