Went to hell, lasted 14 years though! Stainless steel screws are probably number 1 but how to design for the best strength đ€ had supports at a 45-degree angle. I think the top plank should have perhaps been attached to the top side of the beams that remain on the wall. Maybe hole plates for reinforcement đ€
Screws rusted through + timber where screws were located (upper bracket) has started to decay (precipitation)

On the wall closest to the house facade, mount 2 standing 45 x 70 studs.
So a total of 4, mounted with spacing for the top stud and brace.
