I'm installing noggings to have something to mount the TV on. Normally, I have chipboard + drywall in the walls, but I don't trust that it's enough for a 40-50kg TV. But could I skip the noggings if I instead put up OSB behind the drywall? Is it enough to support that much weight?
Great, I'll remove my extra rules, as they just complicate things regarding both the conduit and the cable routing between the TV and equipment. I was planning to install these behind the TV and down by the other equipment.

Now the question is how to make it even, as the board next to it is 10mm particle board and I can't replace it...

The one in the picture I found on www.mycablemart.com, slightly narrower ones I found at www.a1components.com.
Is there only EXPENSIVE plywood available in 10mm thickness? I need something that is the same thickness as my 10mm particle boards, otherwise I can't replace the board. The plywood board that was 10mm was also only 2000x1000mm, so it doesn't fit any beams at all. :/
I bought an 11mm OSB board, it will probably be okay against 10mm chipboard.estwing said:
I'll buy plates for the input/output of cables, then the wall can be open inside, separated by the studs. It'll be both nice and good.
