Drywall smells.

Had a pallet of plasterboard standing under a tarp for a few months. This weekend we brought them into the house and it doesn't smell good. The boards have been on pallets and were dry, but I suspect they've absorbed the smell from the earth underneath.
Do you think the smell will go away?

how much do they smell? how many drywall sheets are involved?? maybe it's safest to buy new ones, otherwise place them in a room with a dehumidifier and hope for the best...
