3mm that you have now should work fine! Okay, glad that it worked! (y) yes, it should work, otherwise you can hopefully adjust it if it swells more. Perhaps it's best to wait a bit before you seal the frame again in case it starts causing trouble again.

Do you really need to soundproof that room?

Common sealant strip silencer a lot.
For a 70mm thick wall/frame, you can fit 1.5 sealant strips there.

It's quite common to soundproof the bathroom if it's directly connected to a "social room" or a "quiet" workplace for that matter.

In this case, we've had a non-insulated bathroom for 5-6 years, and it's clear that some guests have chosen the house's other bathroom, which is quite a bit further away. Imagine sitting and using a small bathroom that echoes 2-3 meters away from the company sitting and chatting, with only a thin door and quite free airflow separating. Sure, it works, but if someone is a bit gassy or has an upset stomach, it can easily lead to an uncomfortable situation, and you can understand why some have chosen the other bathroom :)

Yes, fiberglass is effective and it’s quite possible that it would have sufficed. However, when it comes to soundproofing, there are two factors that are usually discussed as determining, which are wave-dampening material and air insulation. In our case, we have chosen to install a chipboard-filled door in a frame with moldings. Around the door, we have pressed in gold fiber and finally, to get a nice seal on the inside, we have used Tec7 instead of moldings which also helps to stop the air.

The result is far beyond expectations actually, the noise is significantly reduced.

We have chosen to do something similar with a couple of other doors, such as the one to the laundry room.

The major downside is if the door needs readjustment, it turned out to be really tedious, but now I think we are on track to have something that will last a long time.

They look like the doors we bought from Bauhaus. They are relatively heavy, so we had to adjust several hinges with a hinge adjuster for them to hang straight after installation, but since then they have worked well for almost two years.
However, for a few days now, almost all doors have started hitting the edge, so they seem to have swollen several mm (because of the weather?)
Have the doors retracted?

They move almost 3mm over the year, so right now there are several doors in the house that hit the frames. It will be fine again in a few months, but it is a bit annoying.

Could it be the quality of the doors? Because I have the same doors as in the picture and in 50 years, I've never experienced anything like doors swelling.
