We are going to build a barn/garage/workshop/stable of about 220 m2 with dimensions of 28x8 m.
Height to the wall plate is about 3.50 m.
We are doing a 45-degree angle on the roof trusses, so the height to the ridge will be about 8 m.
To save money, we will pour a footing (in which we can pour a slab in the future).
What I'm wondering is: How wide and deep does the footing need to be to support it? What dimensions are needed for the reinforcement? How closely should the reinforcement be placed?
I would be very happy if someone with experience could guide me on the subject!

But you only plan to cast an edge beam.

My father was also stingy, so for two sheds, the edge beam started to tip over.
He was probably a bit stingy with the foundation too.

If you want to make it work, there must be a solid footing below ground to prevent tipping; the footing must be right under the sill.
It's easier to cast a full slab now, but it requires more concrete; if you split the work, it results in more concrete in total.
Only the edge beam must be set deeper and on both sides of the beam.

If you cast the floor later, everything must be cleaned out.
The concrete truck must either drive in, and you reinforce as you go or pump in the concrete.

My opinion is that buildings must have a good foundation and a watertight roof to stand on; the rest isn't as critical and can always be fixed later.

It's simpler to cast a full slab now, but it requires more concrete overall. If you split the work, it uses even more concrete.
