Hello!

I am planning to add external insulation to my outer walls with 45mm uniskiva - wind barrier and wood paneling.

The outer walls consist of blue concrete + plaster = radon, so I was considering covering the walls with a vapor barrier on the inside and putting gypsum board to allow the radon to "ventilate" outward instead of inward.

Would this solution work? Do I need to consider anything special regarding the wind barrier? Can I use "regular" paper, or should I opt for something like Mataki Halotex, which is supposed to breathe better?

OK...

So the plastic doesn't help at all in reducing radon gas in the house, then?

What about the wind barrier on the outside? Should I go for the "regular" type or something more advanced like Halotex W10 as a wind barrier and Halotex D50 vapor brake as an internal vapor barrier instead of tight plastic. This way, the wall becomes partially "open" for moisture to slowly migrate out of the wall. All according to the glossy promotional brochure... ::)

The wind barrier is for the external additional insulation.

Now I have bought two rolls of Mataki Halotex W10 at my newly discovered discount store K-Rauta... 8-)
