difference between joint tape and sealing tape?
Going to repair vapor barrier plastic...
Bought both seam tape and sealing tape... The question is whether I should use both or if only the sealing tape should be used?
(bought the wrong one first, thought it was a bit too cheap and happily headed home where it later occurred to me that there might be several green-colored tapes)

Spontaneously, one would think that the seam tape is used to tape the seams of the plastic (which naturally overlapped by at least 20cm) while the other tape is used to seal holes. In other words, you can probably use both for the seams.
Now I've spent some time in a room patching up openings in the plastic.
I've used the thick expensive sealing tape to bind the plastic pieces together and then 2 strips of the cheap joint tape on either side on top of the thick one, to make it wider..
What do you think, feels like I'll soon regret this frugality attempt.
On the most sensitive areas, I should probably lay a new plastic on top in case they come loose.
