Demolishing load-bearing wall, glulam............
Hello, finally the old kitchen is going away
I will start by removing a load-bearing wall to make the kitchen bigger. So now I have some questions about this, it would be great if you could help me with them!
What size of glulam do I need for my wall?
The length of the glulam beam will be about 5.07m
The height of the glulam columns will be about 2.40m
I live in a house with a flat roof, with roofing felt on. It’s a one-story house with a concrete slab. Built in '74.
In the picture, you can see the wall that will be removed: Marked in red

1: I have tried to upload the image, but I'm not quite sure how to do it as it doesn't work, it says it's the wrong format?????? I've used a digital camera and tried to reduce it in "paint". Any tips on what I can do...mats_o said:

What do you have above the wall? The best would be if you had a sectional drawing showing the entire construction. To be able to calculate the glulam beam, you need to know what loads are currently being supported by the load-bearing wall.

Don't have an actual drawing to access. But the roof is flat and the wall is studded with 9.5cm x 4.5cm I think with 60cm spacing, is that enough to know?
Can you recommend a good place to buy glue-laminated beams cheaply in Gothenburg?

Dadde
