Good morning,
Today I am planning to start the project of tearing down half of the barn. It is enormous, built in the 70s when they thought it was a good idea to pour a slab and build half of it (the part that's staying) and build the rest on piers which have now sunk half a meter making the roof look like an S more or less. So that's the part that needs to be torn down, and it’s not something that happens at the snap of a finger. But, my idea is to work my way up to leaving only the load-bearing framework, and cut through with the chainsaw to remove all the cladding, as it were. But then, how on earth do you proceed? You don’t want to die in the process, so how do you dismantle a barn structure? I have an EC140 that can assist, so it might be possible to tear it down from a distance with the bucket, but the barn is probably 10-11 meters high and neither I nor the excavator has that reach. Renting a skylift to stand and saw off load-bearing roof beams doesn’t feel super safe either?? Has anyone done this before and would like to share?

Now a picture would have been good..
But the safest way is to pull it down.
Saw off so that it is not connected with what you want to keep.
Remove the panel and any braces.
Attach a rope or similar and pull with the excavator in the house's longitudinal direction so you get everything down on the ground, then there will be some cleaning work...
