Just replaced an old deck outside the front door. The previous owner added exterior insulation on top of the old facade, and the previous deck was mounted on the old facade.

Now I have built a new deck, but there is a gap between the house wall and the deck of about 15cm (see picture).

Does anyone have any good and stylish ideas on how I can cover this?

Is the decking against the house foundation?? A black metal flashing is perfect to keep water away from the wall. Measure everything and draw up how it looks, go to a sheet metal worker, he will bend it so it fits, a slight slope outward of a few centimeters is recommended.

The decking is against the old house wall, just above the foundation.

How do you mean the metal should be placed? Under the "new" wall? Or on top?

Under the panel visible outside the foundation, when the rain comes and hits, it is diverted out onto the decking and flows down there and not into the foundation. Not to scare you, but it can be disastrous for the foundation with constant water exposure, it doesn't dry as it should.

Exactly as I thought you meant and just as I imagined myself :)
What do you think it costs at a tinsmith? It's a 5-meter-long metal sheet that's needed..

have no idea, but my window sills cost 200 each, there were some special bends, it will probably be at least 2 sheets for you maybe 700-800 - but well worth the money
it fits directly, if the base is good on the surface, you can rough it up a bit and glue them in place
