Hello formet,

We are renovating at home and have hired a company. They are working on lowering the ceiling, and during cable routing through the newly laid sparse panel, they have drilled through the old drywall in one place and also penetrated the plastic film (vapor barrier?) that protects the insulation between the floors, so the insulation is visible. How dangerous is this in the long run? Should I ask them to fix these damages, or is it not a problem because they are installing new drywall?

Grateful for your response!

Is it warm or cold above? If it is cold, it needs to be fixed. If it is warm, then no, and it is likely that it is not a vapor barrier but just something to keep the insulation better in place.

It's warm above. Okay. But then I can sleep peacefully for now. ☺️

Thank you so much for the response! Have a nice weekend!
